Object Name Shirt
Description Man's white cotton dress shirt; bosom style. Bosom piece: heavier or padded oval piece on front from neck to halfway down shirt length; ridge at ctr made to look like an opening w/2 buttonholes 2 small buttons or studs; narrow woven stripes. Full length opening on back w/4-mother-of-pearl buttons. Round narrow neckband w/1 buttonhole at frt for attaching collar. Slits frt ctr and both sides. Cuffs have narrow woven horizontal strips and cufflink holes; 1 button & buttonhole on slit above cuffs. Small label sewn to interior yoke /GEORGE H. CAPPER/CHICAGO/; handwritten /5169/ and /12/2/35/.
Provenance Used by members of the Horseless Carriage Club of America, Tucson Chapter, during the 1950s-1980s as part of Living History Costumes. Harry Mann was charter member of club.
