Object Name Shoe, Man
Description Pair of men's shoes; black hightop. Fabric top w/curved flap that extends to outer sides and buttons up w/small, black, roundhead buttons. Plain leather vamp and counter; flat layered heel; toe box is slightly rounded point. Leather strip runs vertically up the back of the fabric hightop. Interior has white canvas and black leather on the top; red diamond on left of top edge w/THE/STETSON/SHOE/ in white letters; numbers stamped in black on white canvas /40 3 4 K/. A diamond w/company name is also stamped into outsole near heel. A) Left. B) Right.
Provenance Used by members of the Horseless Carriage Club of America, Tucson Chapter, during the 1950s-1980s as part of Living History Costumes. Harry Mann was charter member of club.
